In The Books

Well, write it down, The Supreme Tutelas officially conducted their first meeting today, and boy were we productive! I didn’t expect anything less, though. It was held at Beagle Bagel in Highland Village. We had to partake in a little sweet tea and chicken salad while we were there, but we got a lot done. I can’t give you a bite of our lunch, so here’s a taste of what we accomplished: Nina unveiled the new BlogSpot for Krewe of Bona Dea and Bunco Bon Appétit, the new logos, and the creative side of why everything is named what it is and the meaning behind it. Leigh shared inspiration for the artwork she is putting together for the cover of the cookbook. It will be her interpretation of the goddess Bona Dea. Kristin set the tone for the number of bonafide charter members that we should introduce to the chapter in its first year. Each Tutela selected whom they would like to invite and why, and all three had to be in agreement for their invitation. Ladies were carefully selected based on their character, personality, talents, and strengths. We also discussed membership dues, and key event dates. Also, we decided on which events we would hold annually. Each of us left with duties to perform. Kristin will be diligently working to gather all paperwork to officially create the Krewe of Bona Dea as a national, registered Mardis Gras Krewe and will begin thinking about the plan for our first shin-dig. Leigh is working on creating our Bunco Bon Appetit cover art, compiling most of the recipes, and checking with her connections for a venue or two for our Bonafide Invitational and our first festival ball. Nina is continuing to work on the copy and creation of our websites and the layout of the cookbook. All three ladies are working on gathering recipes and creatively coming up with themes to group them in. We are also checking into everything we need to do to set up our Sisters for Motherhood Scholarship up from a business and tax stand point. Luckily, Leigh’s husband is good with that sort of thing.  All in all, this first EVER meeting was fabulous and IN THE BOOKS!
